August: Hurricane Harvey Hits Houston (Houston partially bounces back by winning World Series on November 1, 2017).

September: Hurricane Maria Mauls Puerto Rico and almost HALF of PR still without power.  San Juan Mayor calls Trump: “Disaster-in-Chief”.

November: SF Orange Band releases “No Means No”, a song originally written about the Stanford Rape case but which takes on new meaning as Roy Moore revelations unfold.

December 12, 2017: Doug Jones beats Roy Moore!

December 23, 2017: Trump signs tax bill.  But let’s be honest: this is not Trump “Dead or Alive”…great benefits for him and his cronies during lifetime; not the big victory for him at death (so don’t look for him to pull the plug on himself anytime soon).

After the huge tax rate reduction for large corporations was in an early draft of the Tax Bill, someone asked about a tax break for small businesses, the back-bone of America and the Small Business break was hatched. Somewhere along the way, however, “Small Business” morphed into “Qualified Business”. What is a Qualified Business you ask? Pretty much any business owned by Trump & Trump types. Can doctors, lawyers and CPA’s count as “qualified”? Yes, but only if they are small.

So President Trump can have one legislative victory this year? Not worth it. If it took the Reagan Administration a year and a half for tax reform, what an insult (and how absurd) that they think they can pass (appropriate) tax reform in a matter of weeks.
And don’t slip a provision for oil drilling in the Alaska Wildlife Range into the tax bill…this is not draining the swamp but more business as usual in DC. Maybe Doug Jones can help restore some sanity…let’s hope so!

His team from Puerto Rico loses to team USA in final at Dodger Stadium in March. Going into World Series at Dodger Stadium he says he’s going to turn that around & the Astro’s did!
Then he proposes to his girlfriend at the end of the WS but also contributes to PR recovery.
